Capital Smart Motors is gearing up to make a major entry into Pakistan’s electric vehicle market with the launch of the Forthing Friday REEV, a range-extended electric SUV promising an impressive 1,150 km total range.
The SUV is powered by a 31.9 kWh battery that can deliver around 600 km on electric power alone. For longer trips, a petrol engine steps in—not to drive the wheels directly, but to act as a generator—adding another 550 km to the range. This hybrid-style setup is particularly aimed at overcoming Pakistan’s still-developing EV charging infrastructure, a key concern for potential buyers.
Price and Availability
Capital Smart Motors has revealed pre-launch prices: the battery-only BEV version starts at PKR 8.99 million, while the range-extended REEV will retail at PKR 10.99 million.
Test drives and pre-bookings will begin August 19, with events at Centaurus Mall (Islamabad), Dolmen Mall (Lahore), and Dolmen Mall (Karachi).
Why It Matters
While Pakistan’s EV market is still small, demand for premium electric SUVs with long driving ranges is growing. By introducing a model that blends EV efficiency with petrol-assisted range, Capital Smart Motors is positioning the Forthing Friday REEV as a practical choice for drivers wary of running out of charge on long routes. If it delivers on its range claims, it could set a new benchmark for what’s possible in Pakistan’s premium EV segment.
