In response to the Israeli government’s directive for Palestinians to evacuate Gaza within 24 hours, the Palestinian resistance group Hamas has unequivocally stated its refusal to comply. However, Hamas spokesperson Dr. Khalid Qaddoumi asserted that the people of Gaza would not become refugees as they did in 1948. He accused Israel of attempting to undermine the determination of Gaza’s residents and pressuring international organizations to compel Palestinians to vacate Gaza. Still, he maintained that they would not abandon their homeland.
Israeli authorities distributed pamphlets by air, instructing Palestinians to leave Gaza City and relocate to its southern areas.
Simultaneously, Israeli forces have been conducting ongoing airstrikes on Gaza, resulting in the deaths of at least 1,800 Palestinians since Saturday when Hamas launched surprise attacks within Israel. Among the casualties, at least 583 Palestinian children have lost their lives, and thousands of Palestinians have sustained injuries from the Israeli airstrikes. Additionally, Israeli airstrikes have displaced more than 423,000 Palestinians.
